I mean yeah this season has us innundated with a bunch of annoying newbies, but at least they’re shaking up the show and trying to keep it interesting. And one of the bonuses of such efforts is the lack of Elliot. So hooray for new scrubs!
In other news, I’ve been hard at work sitting on my ass watching christmas specials this week, and I’m serious, in about three days I’ve managed about twenty. Including The Santa Clause trilogy. Which I’ve decided I rather like. Also garfield, mickey, chipmunks, miracle on 34th street, polar express, fred claus, you name a christmas special, I’ve probably seen it. [I saw the Pacman even, I'm not kidding.]
And of course, I’m saving the Muppets Christmas Carol for the day itself, and possibly home alone and die hard too. Because you cant celebrate the holidays without the classics. And of course, the new Doctor Who special. THE END OF TIME. Woop! Anyway, I should be back beforehand, but if not, Merry Christmas you fellow Artsouls.

So yeah, I finished my NaNoWriMo novel “A Penny for your Thoughts” you can check out the page with the synopsis if you click here! So, I’ll announce it here when its done and available if any of you guys want to pick up a copy to check out, i’d love to hear what you think!
I also did try and take part in Movember, both events were pretty easy when you’re unemployed. Only with NaNo I had to fight my own laziness to get my wordcount up to snuff for the final deadline.
In other words I’m toying with the future of AS, considering changing the artstyle and format slightly, to a more traditional journal comic, just something that’s easier and quicker to put out so you guys aren’t waiting so long between updates, because these comics take me a little longer than I’d like. Still haven’t gotten the knack for knocking out quick comics, which is something I really think I need to work on. So we’ll see where it goes. As always feedback is appreciated if there are any of you out there that want to leave comments and such!
Also filmed parts of the review show I’m doing with matt today, which was pretty fun. Might have an episode up sometime in the near future, just gotta write a bit of script and do the voiceover/capture some footage, the hard part is done. [Watching the film and then deciding which bits to most make fun of.]
See you guys next update!

This is actually true, I do often find myself “Playing Karma” In order to get what I want. In this case, I knew if I got everything sorted and was just sitting about waiting for NaNoWriMo to start something would get in my way, I never thought it’d be the triumphant return of Valkyrie Sky though.
Valkyrie Sky is an excellent free MMO game of which the last beta finished in februrary. Since then all the people I know who played have been waiting with baited breath for the return, which was announced about 2 weeks ago, and is now available. its only another beta but its a LOT more polished and still an incredibly brilliant game.
Basically its WoW but instead of clicking on monsters and killing stuff over and over, ie. all the grinding, you play R-Type/Gradius instead. It’s pretty brilliant in that there are four different types of character and a multitude of classes within that type. For example Bowmen can be rangers, archers, hunters etc. each has different skills and if you’ve played an MMO you’ll know exactly how this all works. But the real skill comes about when you need to form teams of different players in order to survive some of the stages. Swordsmen can block bullets so they’re pretty invaluable in some of the “bullet hell” stages and Bowmen are pretty excellent at dealing damage to bosses. You can solo, but a lot of the time its way more fun to have 4 players in an R-type stage. And this time around there are pets and a PVP system that are pretty awesome.
So until NaNo comes around I’m doing my best to remember to do some research for my upcoming novel, and during every other waking second I’m pretty much playing VS. But don’t worry, you’ll still get your monthly comic.
God, I need to get doing a weekly strip again. I suck. If you want to complain, meet me in VS. =P

Sadly the aforementioned turtles information is in fact true. But I’m still gonna watch Turtles Forever because it should be a good story! As for recent news, not much to say really, bar the fact I’ve been watching too much stuff by That Guy With the Glasses and also Linkara and Spoony. I really gotta stop doing that so much and focus on my stuff. Mostly because I want to try adn film my own junk.
Not a lot of review type news this week, mostly because I’ve been planning a bunch of stuff I’m going to do, and not really sitting through much. [totally ignore the previous paragraph, you're obviously mistaken.] Making some headway with my planning for NaNoWriMo 09 which I’m participating in this year. and at the same time, I’ll probably be filming some vlogs of the experience. If they’re going to be watchable or not, I dont know, but it should be fun to see how a months worth of writing slowly breaks down my sanity and reduces me to a crazed mess.
So who knows, there may soon be some video content heading your way from this part of the Not Regret Empire. but anyway, see you guys later!

Not much new to report this week, apart from the fact that I’ve been playing about with adobe after effects to make some neat little title sequences for some videos I’m thinking of making. the obvious idea is to do some about drawing to try and entertain you guys, my second idea is a show about whiskey, where me and some buds give you a rundown of some drinks, give you a little history, then tell you what we think of em. Not sure if i’ll get a chance to work on either this week, but rest assured you’ll have a new update next week, even sooner if I get my act together.
Thats right kids, If all goes to plan you could be looking at two updates a week, thats twice as usual, or way more than usual a week, if you look at last month where i uploaded like one comic in 5 weeks. oops.
In other news, Marvel’s Trading Card game on the DS is incredibly frustrating, mostly because I’m pretty sure the game changes the rules every single time you play it. I mean really, can four muggers take down spidey she hulk and the human torch? I think not.
As for TV I highly reccomend the fantastic Charlie Brooker, and his vitriolic look at the media industry in ScreenWipe, NewsWipe, or the currently airing on channel 4 You Have Been Watching. I dont think I’ve ever agreed with a guy on TV as much.

So, be sure to scope it out when its up on his website! or when its availavble for purchase which is might just be! Imagine, you could own a hard copy of a great anthology featuring yours truly!
In other news, The most excellent Megaman Starforce series has ended with the third game, Red Joker or Black Ace. Making the full title something like MM SF3: BA/RJ which is a mouthful indeed. But a brilliant little set of games based off the Battle Network series. Hopefully they’re going to make a new Mega RPG of some sort for the DS! There is a final game planned, a cross over between Starforce and Battle network coming out so, theres something look forward to, all you Lan fans who’ve been inconsolable since BN finished!
Speaking of righteous crossovers, there is one coming for all you TMNT fans, for the 25th anniversary there is a special episode of the new TMNT series coming where they cross over with… the TMNT. from 1987. yes. you read that right, how good is that?
And speaking of brilliant things on the idiot box, Torchwood: Children Of Earth was on last week, and I’ve got to say thats probably one of the best things I’ve ever seen on the TV. Totally blows the first 2 series out of the water, and does so with complete style. A harrowingly dark piece of TV which I was not expecting, and a lot less silly and filled with pointless shags as the first two seasons. Well reccomended, even if it is now no longer on the BBC iPlayer’s rotation. Im sure you lucky americans will get to watch it in a few years.
Spectacular Spider-man, Amazing Spider-man, Peter Parker: Spider-man, Web of Spider-man, Untold Tales of Spider-man, astonishing spider-man, ultimate spider-man, spider-man 2099… the list goes on.
Oh dear! I’m sorry guys, I’ve kinda been AWOL for like, a MONTH. March 10 was the last update and today was the 22nd of June, thats 5 updates missed. god I feel really bad about that. Especially since i need to hit like 30+ quality updates in order to list this place on Project Wonderful. Man, I really gotta get my act together.
I’m currently doing a few pages of a short story for my bud Rich Lillie over at Stndish.com on an anthology called Random Hand Spasms #2! I did 4 pages for the first issue, which are on the site now, so check em out. Hopefully #2 will be in print so you guys can grab a hard copy for yourselves and see just how much hard works gone into that!
Speaking of people who work hard [and actually update their comic on time] the fantastic Doctor who comic, The 10 Doctors has recently wrapped up over at Rich’s Comix Blog [a third rich, not me, not Lillie, but man, Richs are big on comics!] go on over, and check out the ending, or from the start if you’ve not had the joy of reading through that yet! If you’re a fan of anything who related, you’ll get a big kick outta that.
But back to my delays, and, as every good delaying webcomic author says, theres been good reason. I’m currently applying for my canadian visa to go and live with my wife kerry. and I just turned 23, so theres been lots of goings on….going on. Updates will be a little sparse in the coming weeks, Maybe, maybe not, but I’m warning you now so you dont get dissapointed when nothing shows up on sunday. that is if any of you guys came back?
guys?…
]]>yet another wonderfully aged comic. Like a fine wine, I let my comics age before I unleash them on the unwitting public. Since its been a while now, HOW BLOODY GOOD WAS THE CHUCK FINALE? DAMN! Also, the casting on Chuck’s Dad was sheer genius.
]]>yeaaah, hows this for an update that totally isnt two months late? I mean the london web comix mini thing 09 was in MARCH and its now MAY, but hey! Its still an “M” month so I’m not doing too badly! at least its the same year!
So what have I been up to, you’re all dying to know, I know. Well, games wise, I’ve finally re-picked up the wii port of Okami and I’d left myself in some random place in the middle of nowhere, so re-establishing the quest mode took me a while, just beaten the log ride, and gained the night ink brush move, which is pretty cool, if a little useless at the minute, just got the caninine gang back together and i’m about to move into the temple, fun stuff!
Picked up Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, thats pretty good if totally repetitive, speaking of meaningless taskmongery, I completed Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, and let me tell you, after playing that solid for a few days its difficult to see anything but that game when you close your eyes, but my Bejewelled training paid off and I managed it with little trouble. Neat idea mixing puzzle game with RPG aspects though. Beat a personal high score at Civilisation IV aswell.
Musicwise, I’ve been into a bit of this and that, some chiptunes courtesy of Sabrepulse, and some heavier stuff in particular Static-X’s “Machine” album, quality stuff, and revisiting The Tea Party. [and of course Ayreon and Star One, but when are they not in my rotation?]
Bookswise I’ve just finished Paul Cornell’s British Summertime, and I’ve gotta say that is one great little sci fi story, its interesting enough to keep me reading through the few religious parts [told mostly by Judas about the J-man himself] and enough time travel to keep things moving along in the right direction! Good read, although, even after matt told me that Leyton was supposed to be dan dare, I couldnt stop picturing him as American Dad’s Stan Smith.
